A Window and Five Minutes

Sometimes That’s All You Need

For her wedding gallery, Angie wanted photos of her mom and soon-to-be mother-in-law helping her get her dress and shoes on. The room at the Amway Grand Hotel she was staying in had great windows, one in particular was situated in the middle of the room near a dining table. We moved around some other furniture and cleared the wedding-day clutter in the area so every one fit comfortably in the scene.

I was looking for solid composition and shapes while using elements in the room to help frame the subjects. Particularly, the window and curtains, the table, and the TV were helpful for these photos. Black-and-white was a natural fit for me in editing, except for the last image below which felt more compelling in color.

Wedding days move fast and, for me, simplest is best. Sometimes a window and five minutes provide more than enough to make images that help tell a wedding story. Send me a message if I can help tell yours.
